Sport Programs

Grace Lutheran College has a long standing record of success in sport spanning over 40 years. Our students are passionate about representing the college in a wide range of sports and activities that range from Soccer, Touch Football, Rugby League and Netball to Ice Skating, Gym and Ten Pin Bowling. We believe all students should be encouraged and have the opportunity to participate in sport and fitness, as a crucial education pillar in developing Grit, Growth and Grace.

Participation in sport at Grace Lutheran College is compulsory for all students due to the physical, social and emotional health benefits it provides. This is supported by a range of learning and development opportunities, which cater for different interests, physical ability, age and gender of our students. These opportunities are divided into three bands - Recreation Sport (non-competitive/fun activities), Competitive Co-Curricular Sport and the GLC Sporting Excellence Program. For more information please download the Sport at Caboolture or Sport at Rothwell booklets, or contact us.

In 2019, we launched a multi-sport excellence program, GLC Sporting GOALS at our Rothwell Campus. This program has been specifically designed to suit the needs of high performing students through a holistic approach to athlete development.

Club Netball

Grace Netball Club was founded in 2005 and is very fortunate to have a large volunteer base and a passionate committee who promote the sport and support our teams.

The Club has the services of Head Coach, Kym Marks who oversees coach and player development.

We give opportunities for girls from 5 years through to 17 years of age to participate in the Caboolture Netball Association, Saturday Winter Competition and Tuesday Night Summer Competition.

All fixtures take place at the Shirley Tinney Netball Complex, 15 Riverview Street, Caboolture. The club netball season runs from February through until September (Saturday Winter Competition) and October through until December (Tuesday Night Summer Competition).

All girls are invited to trial for teams and girls are then placed in a team according to ability and train once a week.

Throughout the netball season there are opportunities for girls to represent the association in Netball Queensland events.

Grace also offers the following club sporting opportunities (which may be at an additional cost) including:

  • Netball - regular games representing the school and Grace Netball Club at Caboolture Netball Association - open to Girls Years 7 to 12
  • Grace Swimming - swimming club Wednesday evenings at the Grace Swimming pool (Rothwell) - contact 3204 2725 or Grace Swimming Website for more details.
