Monique Atwell - Deputy Head of Campus Caboolture

I began my teaching career at Grace Lutheran College in 2010 as a Business and Legal Studies teacher at the Rothwell campus, moving to Caboolture in Term 2. Since then, I’ve built a fulfilling career marked by progressive leadership roles. In 2012, I became Career Guidance Officer, followed by Head of Teaching and Learning in 2019. In January 2021, I was honoured to be appointed Deputy Head of Campus, deepening my commitment to strategic leadership and whole-school development.

As Deputy Head, I work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the campus’s vision and culture. My responsibilities include overseeing curriculum delivery, implementing the QCE system, ensuring compliance with QCAA, LEQ, and ISQ, and mentoring staff through professional development. I also lead initiatives that support personalised student pathways, manage key campus events, and oversee teams such as the CAVE, Pathways, Diverse Learning, and Learning Leads.

My career began in Human Resource Management at the University of Queensland, where I gained foundational skills in leadership, communication, and strategic planning—skills that continue to inform my people-focused approach in education.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Education (Leadership & Management)
  • Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary)
  • Bachelor of Business (HR Management)
  • Certificate IV in Career Development

Outside of work, I enjoy netball, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends. Watching my daughter grow is one of my greatest joys.

My leadership philosophy is rooted in relationships, integrity, and a shared vision for growth. I strive to create a collaborative, student-centred environment where staff and students feel empowered. I’m guided by Micah 6:8: “Act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with your God.”
