Diverse Learning
At Grace Lutheran College, we are committed to supporting the educational journey of every student. Through collaborative partnerships and a whole-school approach, we aim to provide inclusive and effective teaching and learning experiences for students with diverse educational needs.
Diverse Learning is provided based on individual student needs for students who have a verified diagnosed disability, diagnosis or learning disorder.
Support
At Grace Lutheran College, support is tailored to meet the individual learning needs of students, with a focus on addressing the functional impact of their circumstances in consultation with external practitioner documentation. Our goal is to ensure equitable access to education by providing appropriate adjustments and resources that enable every student to engage meaningfully in their learning.
- Support Plans developed in consultation with families and specialists
- Diverse Learning Case Managers and Teacher Aides
- Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARAs) for assessments and exams
- Breakout spaces designed to provide short-term, structured support that helps students regulate, refocus, and successfully reintegrate into their regular learning environment
- Supported Learning / Independent Learning classes (Years 7–10)
Transition from Primary School
We assist students in their transition from primary to secondary school through orientation programs and transition visits, Year 7 case managers and dedicated teacher aides, executive functioning support (where appropriate) and collaboration with wellbeing staff and families.
Transition to Life Beyond Grace
Senior students receive tailored support to help them navigate their chosen pathway with subject selection guidance, support for QTAC applications, assessment provisions, industry exposure to support planning for future pathways.
Wellbeing and Collaboration
Our Diverse Learning team works closely with Wellbeing Leads, school counsellors, chaplains, and health centre staff to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
