Parent Connections
Parent Connections – The Grace Way
At Grace Lutheran College, we know that strong connections between parents, students, and educators are essential to nurturing the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of every child. Through The Grace Way, we foster a collaborative, supportive community where families are actively involved in their child’s learning journey.
Our Commitment to Parent Connection
- Parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers.
- Research shows that connected parents support stronger academic outcomes, greater wellbeing, and deeper social connections.
- We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where parents are valued, informed, and empowered to support their child’s educational and spiritual development.
Connecting Parents with Learning
Parent Connection at Grace Lutheran College encourages engagement directly in the learning journey through:
- Learning Awareness and Experiences – Gain insight into your child’s learning
- Parent-Teacher Conversations – Discuss progress and goals with teachers
- Collaborative Curriculum Discussions – Explore ways to support learning at home
This reflects The Grace Way, working together to support student growth, wellbeing, and success, recognising that education is strongest when school and home are partners.
Opportunities for Parent Connection
Parents can connect with the College community in many ways:
- College Events – engage with celebrations, cultural events, and fundraising
- Workshops & Seminars – Participate in a range of support sessions on relevant topics
Staying Connected
We prioritise clear, ongoing communication to strengthen Parent Connection:
- Parent Lounge/Parent Orbit– Access academic updates, attendance records, school announcements and much more.
- Newsletters – Receive regular updates on College news, achievements, and events
- Social Media – Stay informed with real-time updates and community highlights
- Parent-Teacher Curriculum / GEL Conferences – Meet with teachers to discuss your child’s progress and goals
Join the Grace Community
We invite all parents to actively participate in the Grace Lutheran College community. Your involvement enriches your child’s education and strengthens the Christ-centred, supportive environment that is The Grace Way.

Important Update Regarding Secondhand Items
The College is currently reviewing the future of secondhand item sales at The Grace Shop, in response to a growing preference among families for alternative avenues and increasing hygiene considerations. As part of this consultative process, the College has paused the acceptance of all secondhand uniforms, books, and formalwear. We encourage families to explore other options for buying and selling these items while this review is underway.
Please be assured that The Grace Shop remains open during its advertised hours, and continues to offer a range of secondhand items that have already been submitted. We appreciate your understanding and will provide further updates once the review is completed and the future of the Grace Shop is defined.
