We offer various sports and sporting opportunities here at Grace College.

Weekly sport

This is conducted on Wednesday afternoons for Years 11 & 12 students and Thursday afternoons for Years 8 to 10 students. Year 7s do sport on Fridays. Seniors and Juniors either compete in Interschool competition (against local schools and Colleges) or Recreational sports for the Seniors and Inter-house sport for the Juniors.

These sports include:- Aussie Rules, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Futsal, Handball, Hockey, Netball, Rugby League, Soccer, Softball, Squash, Tennis, Touch, Volleyball.

Recreational Sports include:- Ten Pin Bowling, Badminton, Fishing, Ice Skating, Golf, Tai-bo and Pilates, Social Squash and Tennis, Table Tennis, Water Aerobics, Walking, Waterpolo, Weights and Circuits.

Carnivals

There are 4 Carnivals in our calendar year;

Term 1 Swimming (Follow this Link to the Grace Swimming Club Website)
Term 2 Cross Country
Term 3 Athletics
Term 4 Triathlon

These carnivals are followed by Zone, Inter Lutheran and Regional carnivals.

Talented students can even reach State and National levels.

Regional Trial Days

Students are able to trial for selection in Sunshine Coast Regional Teams. There are usually 3 trial days for various sports in Terms 1 & 2. We have had many students past and present who have been selected for State teams to compete in National Championships throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Co curricular Sport

We compete in many after school competitions throughout the year, against other South Eastern Queensland Schools. These competitions include:-

Uhlsports Cup Soccer for girls and boys, Coca Cola Cup Cricket for boys, Golden Circle Cup Hockey for boys and girls, Vicki Wilson Cup Netball for girls, Schools Cup Basketball for girls and boys, just to name a few.

Sports Awards

All students who compete in sport have the opportunity to receive sports awards at the end of each year. Their point tallies commence when they first start here at Grace and continue to accumulate until they leave in year 12. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are given at the end of each year for students who reach these special point goals.

The Sport Department offers as much opportunity as possible, assistance and guidance to help students reach their sporting goals and potential, while attending Grace College.
