Aims and Functions of the P&F Committees – Rothwell and Caboolture


The Grace Lutheran College Parents and Friends Committees are essential and active members of the College community.  These committees promote understanding and co-operation within the school community to assist parents and students in achieving the best outcome from their time at the College.  The P&F committees also provide a vital link with College management, administration and academic functions through their representation in various decision-making committees.  The P&F committees assist the College and its students by fostering activities that will benefit them.

Meetings at Rothwell

Meetings are held at 6.00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month (holidays excluded) in the College Boardroom next to Reception (A2) and are open to all parents and friends. These meetings provide a forum for parents and friends to express their point of view on any school-related matter. Meetings at Caboolture

The Caboolture P&F is an active parent and friends group, which meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm. The meetings run for about an hour and are a great way to find out what’s happening at your child’s school.

Caboolture P&F Annual Election Meeting

Wednesday 4 September 2019 at 6:30pm in The Cave

Grace College is now calling for nominations for positions on the Executive Committee (Chairperson; Secretary; Finance Officer; Ordinary Member) and parent representatives for College Consultation Days and College Consultative Committees. Nominations need to be signed by the nominee and endorsed by one current member. Nominations must close soon. 

Please see below for descriptions of Executive Positions: 

CHAIR PERSON The role of the Chair Person is to ensure that the monthly meetings are run in accordance with the ‘Terms of Reference’ and to attend to matters that arise from time to time that concern the P & F. The Chair Person is also expected to help set the agenda at the Committee and Executive meetings. The Chair Person represents the P & F Committee at social and public functions.
  
SECRETARY The Secretary of the P & F has, as their main role, to take minutes of the monthly meetings, record attendance and publish the minutes. As a member of the Executive, they are also expected to attend the Committee meetings and to assist in putting the agenda together. The Secretary will receipt, collate, track and/or respond to correspondence applicable to the management of the P & F and the Executive.
  
FINANCE OFFICER The Finance Officer is responsible for all reporting on the annual budgets and for the financial results of activities of the P & F Committee. The Finance Officer is expected to present a monthly set of financial figures to the P & F meeting each month in accordance with the ‘Terms of Reference’. The P & F accounts are audited once a year and the Finance Officer is expected to have the financial situation of the P & F under control for this.
  
ORDINARY MEMBERS The Ordinary Members of the P & F have, as their main role, to attend the Executive and Committee meetings, contribute to discussions and vote on matters of business.
