In 2015, Grace Lutheran College had over 100 different teams competing in wide variety of sporting disciplines ranging from 9, 15 and 18-a-side Australian Rules Football, Basketball, 20 over Cricket, Equestrian (multiple events), Fishing, Futsal, Hockey, Indoor and Outdoor Netball, Rugby League, Soccer, Softball, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch Football, Beach Volleyball, Indoor Volleyball and Waterpolo.
These sporting opportunities are offered to both male and female students across all grades that also compete in the Interschool Sporting programmes. Together with a large number of experience and dedicated staff/coaches and Sports Assistants, these opportunities extend from local one day tournaments, once a week for a term competitions, through to week long State championships.
Some of the recent successes that athletes at the College have achieved include: Girls AFL CaSSSA Champions, Girls AFL Youth Girls Champions, Queensland State Futsal Champions, Open Girls UhlSport Soccer State Champions, BOSTL Basketball Champions, Girls Volleyball CaSSSA Champions and Girls Year 10 Volleyball State Champions.
We are excited to announce the launch of the Grace St Paul’s (GSP) Sports Academy, starting in Term 1, 2016. This new initiative will harness the existing talents of athletes at Grace Caboolture and St Paul’s Primary. Our aim is to increase ability levels, attract new students to sport and to strengthen the partnership between the two schools.
GSP Sports Academy will begin with 3 sub-branch programmes as outlined below:
