Co-curricular Performing Arts - Caboolture

Grace Academy is an initiative by Grace Lutheran College. At its core, Grace Academy is focused on fostering excellence and creativity in young minds to equip students with essential 21st century thinking and problem solving skills, preparing them for a life of faith and service so that God will be glorified in the world.

In its initial form, Grace Academy offers programmes that encompass the traditional arts areas of dance, drama, media, music and visual art. Grace Academy operates across a number of locations including the Caboolture and Rothwell campuses, at our local partner primary schools and in the community. We provide high quality arts experiences to our students and, with the added opportunity of partnerships with community groups, to the broader Moreton Bay regional community through tuition, collaborative endeavours such as ensembles, vacation programmes and short courses.

At the Grace Academy, we create a wonderful nurturing community, one that seeks to offer students the opportunity to explore their gifts and talents in a comfortable and caring environment.

The Grace Academy staff are a passionate and energetic team of teachers and industry professionals who have a love for their art forms and take great joy in helping their students develop and share their gifts in an encouraging and protected environment.

Musicals (whole school event)

The College produces a major Senior School Musical and Middle School Musical every two years. Senior School Musicals run on non-major tour years, with Middle School Musicals on the alternate year. These productions give students the opportunity to combine their gifts and work across art forms in performance. They are an opportunity for collaboration amongst a variety of Departments within the school context and across both campuses.

Tours

Grace Lutheran College Performing Arts Department has a long tradition of touring. Performing Arts tours run every second year involving all Caboolture Campus co-curricular groups.

Tuition

Across both campuses, the College offers both private and group music tuition. This program is in addition to standard School fees, but is billed at the same time.

Group instrumental lessons are available on guitar, strings, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. With sufficient student interset, vocal group lessons may be available. Private tuition is offered on guitar, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano and voice. 30 or 45 minute lessons are available.

Game On at Grace

Our Extension Music Programme GAME ON has been featured in the national magazine “Australian Teacher’s Magazine” reporting on a recent percussion workshop by our teacher Claire Carvolth with the headline:”Conversation in junk just one part of superb accelerated music programme.” Read the article here Australian Teacher Magazine
